This Post is Heretical! (and best read on long flight) — 4 Comments

  1. We happened to meet (walking at our local mall) a friend who belongs to a hard science fiction club. She referred me to Wilson Tucker:

I wanted to post a second link, but could not

I sort of remember the term Space Opera when Star Wars first cam out, butI had forgotten that over the years. I need to read more on this so that I can actually discuss this in the future should the topic come up again!

So, Star Wars and Star Trek are Space Opera, not really hard science fiction, but NOT fantasy!

  2. Sending information at the speed of light. One fire at a time. I see what you did there.

A ring that will camouflage the wearer. made from evil. (I was really disappointed by that!)
This reminds me of a Phineas and Ferb episode “my kids were watching” about a contest between Science Fiction fans and Science Fantasy fans. In the end, it’s still a battle between good and evil!
Good stuff! but it always starts to unsettle me when the logic of my tightly woven flying magic carpet starts to unwind. Flying on the Fringe so to speak.
I’ve forwarded this to a couple of friends. I hope they will investigate the rest of this site/blog and maybe…….
