The Mind’s Road To God: St. Bonaventure and String Theory. — 1 Comment

  1. Dr. Michio Kaku’s string theory proclamation on God’s universe creative mechanism is reminiscent of Albert Einstein’s universal static view both deferring to Baruch Spinoza’s philosophy. A more dynamical creative view was presented by Fr. George Lemaitre with the universe created as a primordial egg, which has evolved to our present Big Bang understanding. In this context, I am particularly struck by Pope Francis’ Encyclical LAUDATO SI’, On Care Of Our Common Home, Paragraph 239: “For Christians, believing in one God who is trinitarian communion suggests that the Trinity has left its mark on all creation.” What is that mark? In this year of Mercy, it is be appropriate to study the Vilnius Divine Mercy image dictated to St. Faustina by Jesus for a mark suggestion.
One immediately focuses on the two symmetric angular (22.8 degree) ray forms slightly offset (2.8 degree) from the vertical. The simplicity of these triangles have been enhanced by the artistic license of subsequent artists, but does the original Vilnius simplicity impart a message in itself.
As an engineer attuned to looking at the universe by dimensional analysis, it is apparent that this symmetry conjoins all of conventional physics rationally developed in the European university system initiated in the era of Thomas Aquinas, theoretically and experimentally developed by Isaac Newton, Emilie du Chatelet, James Maxwell, Lord Kelvin, Ludwig Boltzmann, Albert Einstein, Emmie Noether, Louis de Broglie, Neils Bohr, George Lemaitre, Edwin Hubble, Edwin Schroedinger as an expression of how our civilization infrastructure works from the nuclear Standard Model to Cosmology and from the present time back to the Big Bang. Is this the Trinity’s mark on all creation providing a basic understanding of how God is in His creation as we proceed towards our salvation in Him outside of His creation with integral dependence on His Divine Mercy?
Such supporting physical logic (necessarily in incomplete form like looking through a fogged window) is presented in
attuned to Divine Mercy angular rays presented in figure 2.1.1 page 21.
In particular, this Divine Mercy dimensional perspective would seem to be worthy of discussion in the context of Pope Francis’ view on climate change affecting mankind’s well being necessitating further scientific understanding of God’s universe.
