Across the Universe: Sins against the Earth — 2 Comments

  1. Brother Guy, In the context of your statement “Our lives depend on a functioning infrastructure”, I continue to be struck by Pope Francis’ Encyclical LAUDATO SI’, On Care Of Our Common Home, Paragraph 239: “For Christians, believing in one God who is trinitarian communion suggests that the Trinity has left its mark on all creation.” The Trinity’s mark is the ultimate infrastructure from the small quark to the universe bounds and us within- all connected back to the Big Bang beginning. We, made in His image, are to participate in maintaining and building His infrastructure through knowledge of creation’s objective truth including the hurricane cause and mitigating its effects on the earth and its human population.
In the context of personal loss, such thoughts appear somewhat academic but there is some comfort in that we are all in this truth together.
