ⓜ A world of faith — 2 Comments

  1. “Science depends on Faith”……
“If it turns out that your beliefs were justified, you’ve got yourself a thesis. If any of those beliefs were misplaced, well… those are the ones who didn’t make it to this ceremony”
    Very Good.
I’ve been lucky to go thru a couple of these ceremonies. Wise words.
Nice to hear, and re-appreciate after a few years experience validates them.

  2. I knew more than one grad student whose first tries at a thesis turned out to not work out. The challenge of faith is that sometimes it is misplaced. That’s what makes faith, like love and hope, so exciting… and challenging… and ultimately worthwhile. There’s no fun in playing a rigged game.
